§ 152.56. Utility easements.

  • (a)

    Where public utility lines, conduits, and/or equipment cannot be located within the street or alley right-of-way, utility easements shall be provided therefor. The utility easements shall be not less than 16 feet in width and shall be continuous for the entire length of the block.

    (b)

    Overhang easements of at least four feet on each side of the 16 foot easement strip, at a height at or above 18 feet shall be provided in all utility easements.

    (c)

    Where utility easements are not themselves straight within each block, or if the same do not connect on a straight course with the utility easements of adjoining blocks, then additional easements may be provided for the placing of guy wires on lot division lines in order to support poles set on curving or deviating rights-of-way or alleys.
